Robin Army gesture to summer-weary
Secunderabad: Ravi Gupta, a resident of Malkajgiri, was on his way to Abids and was already exhausted by 11 am, but thanks to the free distribution of butter milk by good Samaritans, he was rejuvenated. He said, "A nice glass of buttermilk did the trick. I am happy that even today there are people who help."
The Robin Hood Army distributed 30,000 litres of buttermilk on Sunday at 35 points in the city. Apart from buttermilk aam panna, juices and lassi was distributed to people.
Venkat from RHA said, "The summer drive that we organised last year was a success, seeing the response our city head Uma planned to do the same this year too. Donors showed confidence on RHA and the good response of the last drive.
"On Sunday morning from 7 am we started mobilising the items and by 9 am we kick-started, the amazing part was donors also participated in the distribution and helped us seeing this overwhelming response we are planning to organize more such drives in the coming days. 500 robins across Hyderabad including other interested volunteers participated and made this summer drive a huge hit."
A volunteer from RHA shared, "This is a very good initiative one can least do, and giving water to a thirsty person is the kindest deed one can do. I was very happy after seeing the people thanking us and clicking selfies with us. Seeing their satisfied faces it really made me proud to be a part of RHA."
