Rozgaar Mela by firms working for social causes

Nampally: With the objective of promoting medium and small enterprises and to help generate employment, a first of its kind 'Rozgaar Mela' was organised by Social Business Club, an initiative of Team NGOs Co-operative Trust, at Madina Auditorium, opposite Public Gardens on Sunday.

According to the organisers, as many as 25 entrepreneurs participated in the mela and displayed their products. The main theme of this club is make a connect between consumer and producer directly on social business module to benefit producers as well as consumers, and generate revenue for social causes.

"For the last two years, the club has been operating on various social media platforms and promoting one-to-one business. But this is the first time, all the entrepreneurs of social business club came together at the mela," said Ilyas Shamshi, Team NGOs – India chairman.

The mela was attended by Abdurahman Maktumi, industrialist from Karnataka, Aijaz Ahmed Durvesh, industrial consultant from Tamil Nadu, Mohammed Saleem, an industrialist, Mohammed Salman, businessman, Arshad Hussain, convener, Social Business Club, and several others.

The experts addressed and provided free consultation for youth, NRIs to establish small and medium businesses on social module. "Social business was defined by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and is described in his books. In these books, Yunus defined a social business as a business created and designed to address a social problem. We are working for revenue generation for social workers, raising funds for social work, helping businesses being run for social causes without prejudice of caste, creed and religion," Ilyas Shamshi added.
