RTC staff protest for merger with Telangana state govt

Jubilee Bus Station: RTC JAC continued their protest on the second day in lunch time at JBS on Tuesday, seeking resolution of their problems. RTC staff participated in the protest.

Speaking on the occasion, RTC JAC leader Polakonda Ramakrishna said, "RTC is facing a loss Rs 700 to 800 crore, and the government policies are the main reason for the loss. After the formation of Telangana, diesel charges increased up to Rs 25.

This led to increase of Rs 5 per kilometre. The government neither took the petrol charges nor increased the bus charges. If there is a tax reduction for RTC, we can see profits." Ramakrishna further said, "RTC played a key role in the formation of Telangana. KCR vowed to merge RTC in government services, but never discussed about it later."

Balreddy, Nageswara Rao, Srinivas, Venkatesh, Satyam, Hari Prasad, Pandu Ranga Rao, Krishna Rao, supervisors and staff participated in the protest.
