Run MMTS on Bolarum section in peak hours

Bolarum: The Indian Railways has been urged to begin the service of MMTS in peak hours in morning and evening to connect Bolarum railway station. For the convenience of office-goers, vegetable and milk vendors , the zonal railway users consultative committee (ZRUCC) and Suburban Train Travelers Association have written to the General Manager and the Divisional Railway Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), putting forth their case for the service.

They reminded that earlier there were 47 local trains running between Medchal/Bolarum and Falaknuma/ Umdanagar via Secunderabad. As the SCR cancelled many trains in a phased manner, at present, only 9 trains are functioning on Bolarum section. But these trains are running irregularly, and the timings are not suitable for any section of people.

MMTS Phase-II project costing Rs. 817 crore was taken up by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and works were completed on a few corridors, while those on some corridors are progressing at a snail's pace due to financial troubles.

The Travellers Association also requests MLAs and Ministers of Telangana to see that required funds for MMTS II are released to the Railways to complete the project so that it would be a great benefit to the locals of Bolarum.
