Sahithi Puraskar for BC Commission chief

Chikkadpally: The chairman of the state BC Commission, BS Ramulu was awarded 'Sahithi Puraskar' at a presentation ceremony organised jointly by Lakshya Sadhana and Tyagaraya Gana Sabha here at Kala Subba Rao Kala Vedika on Monday.

On the occasion of birth anniversary of noted Telugu literary figure Dasharathi Rangacharya, Telangana Sahithya Academy chairman Nandini Sidda Reddy, who was invited to the programme as the chief guest, presented 'Sahithi Puraskar' award to Ramulu.

Speaking on the occasion, the member of BC Commission, Dr Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao lauded the efforts of Ramulu to bring awareness among backward classes and described him as multifaceted personality.

Nandini Sidda Reddy congratulated the organisers for awarding the modern poet like Ramulu with Sahithi Puraskar. Speaking about modern poetry, Sidda Reddy highlighted the role played by Dasharathi brothers Krishnamachari and Rangachari and described them as gems in modern Telugu verse.

The organisation's chairman Pragna Raju, founder president P Bade Saab, Rajagopala Naidu, president of Gana Sabha Kala Janardhan Murthy, Raja Ratnam and others participated in the programme.
