Save Devuni Kunta lake from land sharks: CPM

Vijaynagar Colony: CPI(M) demanded that the State government take necessary measures to protect Devuni Kunta tank, located in Vijayanagar Colony, from encroachments.

The party secretary M Srinivas, in a press note released on Tuesday, said the party has demanded that the government take action against the revenue officials who were involved in the encroachment of Devuni Kunta lands.

The District Collector has issued orders suspending local Tahasildar on Monday, he said. However, no action was taken against the persons who were involved in the encroachments and kingpins behind it, he lamented.

The offenders tried to encroach 5.5 acres of land using fake documents and even misled the court, Srinivas said. CPI(M) has staged protests condemning land grabbing attempt in front of the Collectorate and demanded severe action against the culprits, he said. He appealed the State government to take necessary measures to protect the land from encroachments.
