School students stranded at Yapral

Yapral: The first day of school was not a good one for hundreds of school students of Valerian Grammar School and other schools as they were late and the gates were closed.

The gate which is under construction at the check post near Trinity Church leading to Yapral at one side and the other to Bolarum Police station was the cause for the delay.

This was a very unpleasant surprise. We should have been informed through media. Late to school and spending close to an hour in traffic jam is not the right way to begin school said a distraught parent.

A delegation of FNECS office bearers met Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy and submitted a representation to improve connectivity between the North Eastern Colonies and the rest of the Twin Cities.

It was highlighted in the representation that connectivity infrastructure between the North Eastern colonies and the rest of the twin cities is below par, and much poorer than in the rest of the twin cities. As a result, development of the area is suffering.

Specifically, the representation pointed out the need to widen and improve the road connecting ECIL with Trimulghery, which provides arterial connectivity to the area, to ensure the reopening of closed cantonment roads and their widening, to extend metro rail connectivity to the area and improve RTC Bus services to and from the area.

He assured the delegation to take up the issues with the multiple authorities having jurisdictions over the issue, such as Ministry of Defence, Railways, GHMC, HMRL, TSRTC, etc.
