School students take up anti-plastic drive

Sanghi Nagar: As part of 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign, the students of Kamala Rani Sanghi School here brought plastic waste from their homes. The waste collected from them was disposed of safely. Awareness sessions on the detrimental effects of reckless use of plastic and on its scientific disposal were shown to the students.

A rally was taken out on the occasion to create awareness among people on plastic ban and make a plastic-free city. Speaking on the occasion, principal Anuradha said that the plastic had become a major threat to the coming generations.

She exhorted the students not to use plastic and made them to take a pledge to make their parents and neighbours aware of menace of plastic and not use plastic bags in their houses.

The students displayed banners and placards emphasising the need for a collective endeavour to eradicate the plastic bags usage in the city. Srinivasa chary and Ahmed Baig participated in the programme.
