SCs & STs still lagging behind: TSCHE chief

Osmania University: A two-day seminar on "Reservation, representation and social justice," commenced at the ICSSR Seminar Hall in Osmania University on Friday. It was organised by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana State Council of Higher Education Chairman T Papi Reddy, who was the chief guest, said that SCs and STs were lagging behind in every sector. These communities would develop only there was equality and social justice in the society, he added. He questioned the government why only 2 per cent of funds were being utilised for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes

Seminar convenor and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Naidu Ashok, former Dean Prof K Srinivasulu, Prof Basavaiah, Prof D Ravinder, Dr Rajesh, Prof Satyanarayana, Prof Arjun Rao, Prof JLN Rao and others were present on the occasion.
