Seasonal diseases spreading fast

Narayankhed: Non-stop rains for the last three days made drainage water overflow on the roads in Narayankhed division. Diseases like malaria, typhoid and dengue are spreading over in the town. Nearly, more than 450 patients are visiting Narayankhed area hospital for consultations. "Nearly 40 patients suffering from typhoid and malaria are getting admitted daily" said hospital sources.

Municipality officials are indifferent to the issue even as people were falling sick. Though the Government was spending lakhs of rupees for clearing mosquitoes and flies, the municipality department officials were not responding. Fogging machine which was bought at the time when Narayankhed Municipality was Grama Panchayati is not being put to use now.

After an article got published in The Hans India regarding the garbage collection carts, they were replaced but are not being used. Locals demanded that the officials concerned clear the issues as early as possible.
