As fogging operations for mosquito control is an annual practice with the arrival of the monsoon, but in spite of several complaints by the residents, SCB officials have not taken up any measure to resolve the issue.

Speaking to The Hans India, Janardhan, general secretary of PNT Colony, said, "several times we have complained to concerned authorities about the issue, but we got the same reply from them, that the fogging machine is not working, and there are only two fogging machines available for eight wards."

"Due to the water logging in various areas in SCB and the recent heavy downpour, mosquito menace has increased and fogging should be done to eradicate the mosquitoes", said, T Satish Gupta, president of Vasavinagar Welfare Association.

Anil, a resident of 108 Basti, said "Last year fogging was done just once in a month but this year no one has turned up do it. Especially children of our area stopped playing at nearby parks due to the increase of mosquito menace and also due to this issue we have stopped opening our doors and windows".
