Several colonies in grip of severe water crisis

Madhura Nagar: Residents of Madhura Nagar have been facing severe scarcity of drinking water for several days. With the onset of summer, the water crisis has been aggravated in several colonies. Residential apartments, complexes, villas and multi-storied buildings are facing a severe water shortage.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, several residents claimed that the water crisis was so severe on certain days that they were being forced to use public bore wells as the water supply was insufficient to even take care of minimum human needs. The water supply in the colony for two hours was insufficient as the bore wells in the apartments went dry with ground water scarcity and the water supply for two hours in the night were in no way sufficient, reports residents, they added.

" We are suffering due to the shortage of drinking water for the past two months, we request public authorities to take some urgent steps to supply water and save us from this scorching summer," Madhu, a resident, said.

"In the same locality, some houses get sufficient water and some houses get water supply slowly. When we enquired with officials for the reason, officials said that the pipelines are small. So, we requested them to replace smaller pipelines with new ones," Shekar, an employee of Andhra Bank, said.
