Sewage overflow issue unresolved for 3 yrs

Old Alwal: Overflow of sewage has become a common sight in Nagi Reddy Nagar Colony, Old Alwal. The residents of the colony are facing severe inconvenience due to the sewage overflow and water stagnation. Locals complain that the sewage water was getting mixed with drinking water pipeline.

• Residents allege that despite several complaints, no action taken so far

"Besides emanating foul smell, the water logging is leading to mosquito menace in the area. Most importantly, during monsoon, the murky water overflows and floods onto the streets. It has been 3 years that we are facing this," says S Raghu.

He also said it was also emitting a foul smell which was unbearable. There is no proper drainage system in the area and also drainage pipeline is damage, he added.

Though the locals over here complaint to the authority concerned about the issue and request the officials to look into the matter seriously and yet no action is taken. The officials should take this issue seriously and clean the sewage water and also improve the drain system of this area.
