Special baskets to help segregate garbage

Mallapur: GHMC Deputy Commissioner Dasrath said here on Friday that special baskets ('chetta buttalu') to separate wet and dry garbage would be provided by the civic body.

He made the announcement at a meeting organised as part of 'Swachh Hyderabad-Shaandaar Hyderabad' programme at Gulnar Apartments chaired by local corportor Pannala Devender Reddy.

Residents offered to segregate garbage. They said if the GHMC circle staff provided harvesting pits they themselves would procure the required tools. People of the colony offered to become volunteers for the programme and make it a success. Among those present were colony welfare association members, besides local residents.
