Special finance corporation sought for SC sub-castes

Musheerabad: The SC Sub-Castes Rights Struggle Committee on Wednesday demanded a special finance corporation with a fund of Rs 2,000 crore, besides a leather park, for the benefit of those depending on making of leather products. It wanted payment of Rs 2,000 as pension and setting up of an SC Commission with representation to the sub-castes.

Committee president Rudra Rajalingam and general secretary Bairi Venkatesham and Mochi Working Committee president Erupula Bhaskar Taindla alleged that only Madigas were cornering benefits in the name of SC sub-castes which were being deprived.

The leaders wanted allotment of houses in Hyderabad to representatives of the Budaga Jangam community, five per cent reservations for Madigas after taking up SC categorisation and strict implementation of the SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act. Committee leaders Erupula Yadayya, Eddula Gowrishankar were present.

Later Rajalingam was re-elected president of the committee, with Bhaskar as working president and Baira Venkatesham as general secretary. The elected members were Yadayya, Gowrishankar, Puram Shivashankar, Srinivas, Gadi Amaranth and Sudhakar.
