Srinivas Goud pays rich tributes to Papanna

Chikkadpally: Telangana Gouds Coordination Committee conducted the 369th birth anniversary of Sarvai Papanna on Sunday. Several leaders visited the statue of Sarvai Papanna in Chikkadpally and paid rich tributes to him.

Speaking on the occasion, State Excise Minister Srinivas Goud heaped praise on the leadership qualities of Papanna Goud who challenged the Mughals and hoisted the flag on Golconda fort. He called upon the Goud community members to take inspiration from the great person and wage a struggle for their rights.

Former Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud said that BC communities were no longer weak but had become a strong force that can influence state politics. Remembering the role played by the BCs during Telangana movement, he said the people could never forget the crucial role played by the Gouds during the agitation.

BJP president Dr Lakshman said that BJP would celebrate the birth anniversary as the official festival if the party comes to power in the state and install a statue of Papanna at Tank Bund.
