Stray menace now holds up traffic too at Malkajgiri

Gautam Nagar: The residents of Gautam Nagar at Malkajgiri are facing serious trouble with cows and buffaloes wandering on the streets hindering free flow of traffic. Motorists feel unsafe and there have been instances when animals are hit by vehicles. Joseph, a local resident, said that two-wheeler riders in a bid to evade the animals ram into vehicles coming in the opposite direction.

The affected areas include Hanumanpet, Mallikarjun Nagar, Jyothi Nagar, Yadava Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gopal Nagar and Gautam Nagar. Srinivas Reddy, Veterinary Officer, GHMC-Malkajigiri, said, "It has come to our attention. We directed our staff to be alert and warn owners. We will launch a special drive within the division and move them to safer areas."
