Patancheru: The proposed strike in the Ordnance factory has been deferred following the Centre's announcement of setting up a high-power committee to save the unit.
The factory trade union announced that the deferring of the strike was only a temporary measure, while warning that it would go ahead with the strike if the government failed to take remedial steps.
Ordnance Workers' Union president Eswar Prasad made the announcement of deferring the strike at a round-table attended by INTUC district unit president Narsimha Reddy, secretary Rajayya, AITUC district secretary Prasad and HMS leader Singh.
