Striving for workers welfare: INTUC chief
Patancheru: Workers' welfare is the main motto of INTUC, asserted its national president Sanjiva Reddy here on Sunday.
Addressing the general body meeting of Toshiba Industries employees, in connection with its trade union elections, Reddy promised to strive for the welfare of workers if elected. If the workers were to have a bright future, INTUC leaders should be elected with highest majority, he told the meeting.
Reddy recalled that when INTUC won in Asian Paints it ensured payment of highest bonus and high wage agreements. Those who addressed the meeting included BHEL INTUC president Rehman, Sangareddy district president Narsimha Reddy, Telangana INTUC general secretary Chandrasekhar, Toshiba's INTUC working committee members, besides workers. Among those present were general secretary Nageswara Rao, vice-president Yellayya, Tatayya Prasad, Sudhakar, Raju, Jacob and G Sundarangudu.
