Musheerabad: JAC of various student associations tried to storm into Bus Bhavan, demanding the State government to resolve RTC strike, on Monday. Student activists of PDSU, AISF, SFI, TVV and AIDSO participated in the protest.

The attempt to lay siege to Bus Bhavan was foiled as police prevented students from entering Bus Bhavan. Tension prevailed as students tried to push away police and argued with them. Police arrested student leaders and shifted them to various police stations.

Stressing on resolving the issue as soon as possible, the student leaders demanded that the State government call RTC JAC for discussions immediately. They also demanded that the government pay the bus pass subsidy of Rs 600 crore to RTC management.

They expressed concern that the strike may affect the education as about 6 lakh students use RTC buses to commute to their schools. Denouncing the government apathy towards RTC employees, they demanded criminal cases be filed against KCR for the deaths caused during the strike.
