Take measures to curb mob lynching: Muslim leaders

Dharna Chowk: Tanzeem-E-Insaf staged protest here on Sunday condemning mob lynching and the rise in the incidents in India. Speaking to media during the protests, former Rajya Sabha member and CPI leader Aziz Pasha expressed his concerns over increasing mob lynching incidents in India. He said that mob lynching of minorities and Dalits across India has become everyday news.

While minorities and Dalits are being killed by mobs, the BJP government at the Centre has taken no action to prevent such attacks, he alleged. Aziz Pasha criticized the BJP government for its inaction despite the Supreme Court suggesting the Parliament to enact laws to prevent such attacks.

UN Human Rights Commission also reported that as many as 266 people killed in mob lynching attacks in the last five years, and the Centre has not taken any measures to prevent the attacks, he said.

Former MP said that India is a democracy and emphasized on the need for saving its core principle of unity in diversity. Minority leaders Afroz Patel, AIYF president Shaik Nadeem, MD Khan, Sohail, Nadeem, Rakesh Singh and others participated in the protest.
