Kharaitabad: Pega Teach For Change, an initiative of Pegasystems and Teach For Change Trust to provide an enriched learning experience to government school students, hosted their annual event in recognition of the work done by all the Hyderabad volunteers of the 2018–2019 batch.

The volunteers, part of the Pega Teach For Change literacy programme, worked for one academic year at primary government schools between grades 3-5 to improve the English language capabilities, digital literacy and life skills of children. Over the previous academic year, volunteers dedicated 60 hours to teach in classrooms, during which they also worked on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills of the children.

In recognition and appreciation of their unwavering efforts in transforming the future that awaits these children, Dr Dipak P Ripote, Commissioner of Income Tax Exemptions, graced the event and inspired the students to dream big and work hard to achieve their aspirations.

The programme started with a welcome note by Chaitanya MRSK, Co-Founder & CEO of Teach For Change Trust, followed by cultural performances from senior volunteers. The best performing volunteers were awarded for their commitment. Certificates of appreciation were given to all the volunteers who invested their valuable time towards a year of teaching to unleash the potential of the children.

The Pega Teach For Change Literacy program has seen three-fold growth over the past academic year, across its affiliated Government primary schools reaching 150 across India, and over 350 volunteers in the Hyderabad region. The Literacy program ensures stringent recruitment methods for screening and training by language experts to be a part of the initiative and provide quality education to children.
