Techie collages e-waste into beautiful artefacts

Madhapur: Artists creating beautiful artworks is the most valued talent, however, upcycling electronic waste into attractive art pieces is not only eco-friendly but a unique talent.

Vishwanath Mallabadi, a Bangalore eco-artist, is one of such artists, who creates master pieces out of electronic waste items like motherboards, CPUs, EPROMs, SMD radial capacitors, laptop's LED display boards, discarded PCB boards, etc.

Some of his unique art pieces were showcased at India's first-ever two-day International Data Science Technology Conference for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations in Hyderabad on Monday. Some of his artworks include landscape painting, painting of future city, a Dassel bird and Ajim Premji's portrait collage.

Speaking at the conference, 57-year-old Vishwanath, a senior consultant at Wipro in Bangalore, said "No e-waste is a waste for me. I turn waste into worthy objects. I have a tonne of e-waste collected over the years. I bring a second life to electronic waste."

Exhibiting his artworks for the first time, he says that upcycling e-waste plays a major role in environmental sustainability and helps in reducing landfills.

Vishwanath has been seriously working on his passion, eco-art for the past six years. He created 250 eye-catching beautiful artworks. As of now, he is doing this as hobby without any plans to sell or venture commercially.
