Telangana Govt undermining all norms of democracy
Serilingampally: BJP state committee member Gnyanendra Prasaed said the Telangana government led by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao made a mockery of democratic values. He was speaking while he was on his way to attend the indefinite fast undertaken by the state BJP president Dr K Lakshman at Nampally on Monday.
Dr K Lakshman undertook the fast in protest against the state government's negligence over the Inter Board fiasco and suicides of Inter students due to the Inter Board mistakes. Gnyanendra Prasad was arrested along with other BJP leaders when he was on his way to Nampally to participate in the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, he blasted the TRS government for putting BJP leaders under house arrest to prevent them from participating in protests. Terming the government's act as undemocratic, he said BJP would continue to fight against the injustice done to the students.
A state president of a national party was forced to sit on hunger strike protesting the government's apathy and it demonstrates the seriousness of the issue, he said. He said that they were not afraid of illegal detentions and arrests. He said that KCR would be taught a lesson for his fascist and oppressive rule.
He questioned the rationale behind arresting students and political leaders who were seeking answers from the government on the goof-up. He demanded the state government to immediately release the arrested students and leaders and order for CBI enquiry on Inter fiasco. He warned of intensifying the agitation if the education minister is not dismissed immediately.
