Telangana Govt urged to put off schools re-opening
Hyderabad: Balala Hakkula Sangham on Tuesday demanded that the Telangana Government postpone the re-opening of the schools from 1st June to 12th June in view of heat wave.
"As you are aware that the entire Telangana is recording highest temperatures and heat wave and even Meteorological Department also cautioned the people not to move from homes during the day unless necessary to prevent sun stroke.
Further, the monsoon has been delayed and it will take at least 15-20 days for the temperature to come down," Sangham's Honorary President Achyuta Rao said in a letter to Education Department Principal Secretary Janardhan Reddy. He demanded that in the interest of health of the children, the schools should be re-opened on June 12, instead of June 1.
