Telangana Gurukul Parents Association elects new prez

Khairatabad: VJ Kumar was elected as president of Telangana Gurukul Parents Association (TGPA). The election officer Gandu Rajesh Sparrow announced results of the elections at Mint Compound here on Monday.

The elections for the new body were held at the Spoorthy Bhavan at Mint Compound in which Palle Surender of Karimnagar was elected as general secretary, Chatala Sadanandam (Warangal) as vice- president, Y Nagamani (Suryapet) as joint secretary and G Pavan Kumar (Karimnagar) as treasurer.

Speaking on the occasion, VJ Kumar thanked the parents of gurukul students for reposing their trust and electing them. He promised them that he would strive for addressing various issues of gurukul schools and ensure that Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and students belonging to the minority community get quality education in gurukul schools.

A meeting of secretaries of all the gurukul schools would be held soon to discuss various issues facing gurukul schools, he added. He thanked the election officer Rajesh Sparrow and the Deputy Secretary of Social Welfare Residential Schools Pramod Kumar for monitoring the elections and conducting them impartially.
