Telangana Rajaka Reservation Samithi demand corporation with 100-cr funds

Basheerbagh: Telangana Rajaka Reservation Samithi demanded that the State government establish a separate corporation for the development and welfare of Rajaka (washermen) community with Rs 100 crore fund. On Saturday, the state president of the Samithi, Gopi Rajaka, general secretary Paladugula Kanakaiah and other members spoke to media here at Press Club.

Speaking at the conference, Rajaka leaders demanded that the TRS government give at least three MLC posts and conduct birth anniversary of Chakali Ailamma officially by the government. They also demanded that the government erect a statue of Chakali Ailamma at Tank Bund. While the Rajakas were placed in SC category in 17 states, the community has been placed in OBC category in Telangana, they lamented.

An appeal has been made to the State government to include Rajakas in SC category, pass a resolution in this regard in Assembly and send the proposals to the Central government. Honorary president of the Samithi Kodipunjula Chandraiah, vice president Vavilla Vijay Kumar, official spokesperson Shataraju Vijay and others were present at the press conference.
