Telangana State petroleum dealers body elects new panel
Secunderabad: Elections to the Telangana State Diesel and Petrol Dealers Association were conducted here on Wednesday. Amerender Reddy of Bowenpally was elected as president and Vinod of Karimnagar general secretary. Speaking on the occasion, Amerender Reddy said that there were many issues facing the dealers and he would take them up with the State government.
With the government giving permissions to set up more petrol stations, it has become difficult for the existing dealers to survive in the market. Reddy said that the dealers even filed a petition in the court in this regard and he hoped that the issue would be resolved amicably soon. As many states abolished property licences, an appeal was made to the civil supplies department to abolish it in the state as well.
Stating that the main objectives of the dealers is to provide services to consumers and ensure that they did not face any inconvenience, he appealed to the State government to reduce border taxes on fuel supplies. He assured the dealers that he would pursue the matter with the state government.
