Sanjeevaiah Park: Amidst all youngsters who showed up for the Hans Half Marathon, the 70-year-old former Additional SP, a familiar face to many morning joggers at Tank Bund, stood out.

Despite having a brain stroke that paralysed half his body and losing 80 per cent of his stomach to cancer and undergoing an open heart surgery, he proved that nothing could stop him from braving marathons.

"Positive thinking and will power is all one needs and if you don't have the same, then nothing is going to work for you. While on the hospital bed, I heard people saying that I won't be able to lead a normal life as half of my body was paralysed. I made up my mind that I won't go down without a fight," he said.

Thanks to his fitness, Singh has managed to complete numerous 10K runs in Hyderabad under the super veteran category and so far, he has completed 40,000 kilometers over a span of 15 years of running.

His favorite places for outdoor exercises are Tank Bund, Public Gardens and Feroz Gandhi Park at Koti. Singh had an impeccable record of 1 hour 55 minutes at the Hans Half Marathon.
