Traffic cops initiatives to ease traffic travails
Patancheru: Residents of Bheeramguda, Patancheru, Isnapur, Rudraram and other industrial areas are facing traffic jams on the national highway every day because of faulty signaling system. The highway is getting jammed almost daily because of heavy movement of vehicles causing severe hardships to the travelling public. Fruit vendors park their pushcarts and autos on the roads beside shops on footpaths are also impeding traffic movement.
Traffic CI Venu Kumar, speaking to the Hans India, stated that although they were making efforts to regulate vehicular traffic the problem of jams was persisting. He said there was a need for creating public awareness on the problem by convening a meeting by the traffic police of shop-keepers and auto drivers and seeking their cooperation in regulating movement of vehicles.
The CI warned that if the shop-keepers and auto drivers failed to cooperate, the traffic police would take action as per law. He suggested that the 45 traders operating on footpaths near the Beeramguda Kaman and 100 auto drivers shift to roadside for avoiding problems to residents. He held an awareness programme for them on Wednesday.
Kumar said soon efforts would be made to create a halting facility for buses carrying industrial workers. Discussions in this regard were already held with IALA representatives. He assured that traffic would be regulated shortly.
