Trainee officers showcase culinary skills, biz acumen

Jubilee Hills: The trainee civil servants representing 23 States and 15 services, organised 'FETE - The Mela', a day-long fun-filled food-cum-recreation extravaganza as a part of their rigorous 94th Foundation Course (FC) at Dr MCR HRD Institute on Wednesday. The mela was inaugurated by Harpreet Singh, ADG of the Institute.

It was a pleasant surprise to see trainee civil servants not only showcasing their culinary skills and dishing out mouth-watering delicacies, but also proactively selling them as hardcore businessmen.

The dishes at various stalls included fish curry, jal mudhi, etc. from east zone, gajrela, matar kulcha, etc. from west zone, Punjabi lassi, dal kabab with parantha, etc. from north zone, and masala dosa, onion uttappam, etc. from south zone.

Apart from the food items, the stalls offered an array of exciting games and activities, including jalli kattu, smash the rat, fly the plane, drop & catch, house of cards, sand ki aankh, spoon feeding, etc. in order to keep the guests engaged and entertained. the trainee civil servants taking the floor with electrifying dancing to the feet tapping music from hit Bollywood numbers and lively commentary brought out the true essence of this grand food and games festival.

B P Acharya, DG, Dr MCR HRDI, congratulated the trainee civil servants for proving, beyond an iota of doubt that they not only have the ability to crack the world's toughest examination but also are endowed with multiple talents to conceptualise and execute business projects.

The trainee civil servants, officers, faculty, staff and other trainees of the institute visited the stalls and relished the food items and sportingly tried their hand at all the games and activities on display.
