TRS ahead in GHMC campaign race
Hyderabad: TRS is racing ahead of other political parties in the GHMC polls. It has taken up an aggressive campaign even before its rivals swing into action. Pink party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao is going to lead the party in the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation polls along with his son and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao.
The party has drawn up various campaigning strategies to catch the attention of the city voters for this purpose Hoardings and billboards of TRS government's achievements and development schemes undertaken in the GHMC limits have occupied advertisement spaces in every nook and corner of the city, including along Metro routes and RTC bus stops. Images of KCR and KTR were prominently seen in these advertisement spaces that were put up much before Baldia elections were announced.
The party is also likely to utilize the social media platforms in a big way to reach out to the urban voters, most of whom have a presence on these online platforms. Campaign material is being readied for widely sharing on various online platforms and instant messaging apps. Already party ads in the form of graphics conforming to social media platforms are going viral in TRS party groups and circles.
CM K Chandrashekar Rao is prominently featured in these ads as expectedly as he is party supremo and also the captain of the ship. Working president KT Rama Rao, who spearheaded the party campaign in 2016 elections, will be taking care of responsibilities once again this time if the developments on Wednesday are any indication. After the key meeting to discuss GHMC poll strategies, KCR entrusted KTR to finalize the party candidates. Accordingly, the party working president was closeted with senior leaders in the evening to choose the winning horses who can ensure party cross the last election's figure of 99 wards and score a century.
Political experts, however, predict that TRS is going to have a tough challenge from BJP, which is upbeat after a sensational win in Dubbaka by-elections.
