Trust strives for girl child empowerment
Malkajgiri: A team from Building Blocks Group's (BBG) Bangaru Thalli Charitable Trust, which has been striving for empowerment of girls in the state, visited various government schools in Malkajgiri mandal on Monday.
Speaking to media, project manager of BBG Bangaru Talli Charitable Trust Phani Kumar said that the trust has successfully completed empowerment of over 5000 girl children through various educational initiatives in and around various schools.
The trust works for providing conducive atmosphere for learning, basic facilities at schools and scholarships to girl students. The trust aims to empower 20,000 girls this year through education and has set goal of fulfilling educational needs of 10 lakh girls from poor families by 2031, he said.
Providing science lab equipment, decreasing the school dropouts among girls, providing nutrition and health security to girls and creating awareness on importance of educating girls among parents are some of the initiatives taken up by the trust, he said.
