TSMC chief meets Maha counterpart
Hyderabad: On the Invitation of Maharashtra Minorities Commission Chairman Haji Arafat Shaik, the Telangana State Minorities Commission Chairman, Mohammed Qamaruddin, visited Mumbai and met with Arfat Shaik. He appreciated and congratulated Qamaruddin for disposing off 600 cases out of 730 during the year and for achieved good progress resolving the issues.
Informing his counterpart about the Telangana model of welfare schemes, Qamaruddin said that Chief Minster K Chadrashekar Rao was supporting minorities by opening 206 minority residential schools for boys and girls separately and imparting education in English and Urdu Languages. A sum of Rs 1,00,116 is being given to bride at the time of marriage under Shaadi Mubarak Scheme. Overseas scholarships to a tune of Rs 20 lakh are also being provided to hundreds of students of minorities for pursuing higher education in foreign countries.
Besides, 4% reservations to minorities in education and employment is being given. Anees-ul-Ghurba Orphanage, a home for minorities, will be getting a multistoried building which is being constructed with an amount of Rs 20 crore. A building for locating Islamic Centre has also been sanctioned to the minorities, Qamaruddin explained to Shaik.
