TSRTC celebrates TS Day grandly

Musheerabad: Telangana Formation Day was celebrated at Bus Bhavan in a grand way on Sunday. Managing Director Sunil Sharma, IAS, attended the programme as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the corporation should be grateful to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for taking a daring, innovative and unprecedented step of amending GHMC Act to provide subsidy from GHMC to TSRTC Greater Hyderabad to the extent of loss incurred by the city zone, which the corporation has received in previous years and hoped to continue it in the future.

Only when the employees are happy, the corporation will be in good position, he said. TSRTC is also contributing in the growth of Telangana State by transporting the public, he said.

On this occasion, the managing director congratulated all the officers and employees of the corporation. He said that they are performing a herculean task of transporting one crore passengers every day and hailed them for receiving various awards and achievements in the fields of KMPL, vehicle productivity, vehicle utilisation etc. during the year 2018-19.

The managing director also expressed happiness that the corporation has taken a major leap ahead by introducing electric buses with the aid from the Government of India on GCC model. Under phase-I of the project, 40 electric buses were introduced, and through phase-II, another 60 electric buses were introduction, he said. Corporate fleet is on the anvil and asked to strive hard as a team to reduce the losses.
