Secunderabad: Citizens are hit badly due to the TRSRTC strike, and so are the shopkeepers at Jubilee Bus Stand (JBS), but in a different way. The bus stand is seen almost deserted. S Praneeth, Depot Manager, JBS said, "A total of around Rs 28.80 lakh rent is paid by the shopkeepers per month in the depot. There are a total of 32 shops."

There have been days when the shopkeepers are not even able to earn an amount of Rs 1,500 which is half the amount of rent which they have to pay per day. Harish, the shopkeeper of JSR Snacks at the depot, said, "Per day we have to pay an amount of Rs 3,000 towards rent. Due to the strike there are few passengers who travel by bus which is causing a huge loss for us. With no expenses, we are facing inconvenience to pay even to the dealers."

"Yesterday in my shop, only 7 passengers who were travelling by bus from this depot came to purchase snacks," said Govind, another shopkeeper of Sai Sudha Tea and Snacks.
