Musheerabad: TSRTC Staff & Workers Federation (CITU) staged protest before the Bus Bhavan on Tuesday protesting against delay in the pay scale implementation and other issues.

Speaking to media during the protest, the union leaders expressed their anger at the delay in the implementation of pay scale. They demanded the state government to allocate 1 per cent of the state budget towards their pay scale implementation.

The union leaders sought the explanation from the state government on the delay of over 26 months in pay scale implementation. They expressed their anguish at the inability of the recognised union to question management and the state government over the injustice being done to RTC employees. DA arrears have not been paid for the last 13 months, they said.

RTC management has utilised Rs 1,000 crore of CCS funds and has not repaid it so far and as a result RTC employees were not getting loans from their cooperative society, they admitted.

The leaders said that most of RTC employees were in financial distress. The union leaders also demanded the state government to upgrade the Tarnaka hospital to super-specialty hospital for better health care of RTC employees. They appealed the state government and RTC management to address various issues of RTC employees.

State president of the union CH Ramachander, PR Ravinder Reddy, union leaders Gangadhar Rao, Linga Murthy, Veeranjaneyulu and others participated in the protest.
