TSRTC workers union demands elections
Musheerabad: President of TSRTC Employees Union (EC) S Babu and general secretary K Raji Reddy demanded that the TSRTC management conduct elections to the RTC workers union as the period of the present union ended in August 2018 itself. The Union leaders made a statement in this regard in a press release here on Friday.
The union leaders alleged that Union elections were being postponed by the management on the pretext of model election code, which was in no way related to the TSRTC. The current union body was only working as a caretaker union and was not at all concerned about the hardships being faced by RTC employees, they lamented.
While the management was burdening the employees by increasing the number of working hours, the recognised union had failed to question the management. A memorandum was submitted to the Election Commission to consider giving exemption for conducting elections the TSRTC union so that the problems faced by the RTC workers could by resolved.
They demanded that the Labour Commissioner issue instructions to the TSTRC management to conduct elections. A memorandum was also submitted to the Labour Commissioner to ensure the conduct of elections.
