UGC Peer Committee inspects Telugu University

Hyderabad: Peer Committee members of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) visited Potti Sriramulu Telugu University (PSTU) on Monday.

The University Vice-Chancellor Prof S V Satyanarayana said the team headed by Prof Mandavi Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Kalasangit University in Chhattisgarh, would inspect the laboratories, research wing, hostels and other infrastructure of the university for three days. The Peer Committee would submit its report to the UGC for giving a grade to the university.

The team comprises a member coordinator, Prof Dr Sruthi Bandhopadyaya, from Viswa Bharati University, and Prof Koalanuri Asha Jyothi, from Bangalore University, Dr Sadhana Singh from Raja Mansingh Music and Dance University, Gwalior, Dr Prakash Chandra Patnaik from Delhi University, he said.

He said on the first day, a documentary on the university was presented to the team members, besides the IQAC Coordinator Prof G S Gabriel has given a power point presentation giving details of the university, he said. The visiting team held a meeting with the teaching staff of various teaching departments and took stock of the courses taught at the university.
