Undo injustice to Other Castes in medical admissions
Kukatpally: 'Injustice' has been done in the recent medical admissions to the students belonging to the Other Castes (OC), alleged their parents here on Sunday, while expressing anguish over their plight.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, some of the parents pointed out that 419 students had to forego their MBBS seats in the open category following the implementation of GO 550 in the medical admissions.
They stated that so far, in the two rounds of counseling, the percentage has increased to 67, despite the Supreme Court's ruling that it should not cross 50. Yet, the State government was allowing more percentage of reservations, the parents lamented.
They accused the BC Association leaders of claiming to be subjected to injustice and approaching the Supreme Court and resorting to falsehood in the media, while stating that the GO 550 was being implemented only in the two Telugu States.
The parents stated that their children, besides themselves, were feeling anguished having failed to secure seats under merit after toiling hard while preparing for the entrance test for nearly two years.
They claimed that an indication of the injustice done to the merit students was the seat allotment list announced by the University. The parents appealed to the Telangana government to reconsider GO 550 and take steps to ensure that merit students don't suffer loss of seats.
