V Hanumantha Rao takes part in bike rally of RTC JAC
Falaknuma : Former PCC president V Hanumantha Rao participated in the ongoing TSRTC strike organised by RTC JAC leaders at Falaknuma Bus Depot on Friday.
Expressing his solidarity with the RTC employees, VH drove a bike from FM (Falaknuma) Depot to Lal Darwaza X Roads (Nehru statue), as part of the protest bike rally organised by the employees.
The former MP, V H said for the last 14 days RTC employees were on strike, but unfortunately the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, who worked as State Transport Minister and Union Labour Minister in the past, instead of holding talks with RTC JAC leaders was showing cold shoulder.
He condemned the chief minister for issuing unwarranted statements like 48,000 RTC workers were dismissed and government won't hold talks with them, which he felt was unbecoming of the leader of his stature. "Even after High Court's interference KCR was not holding talks with RTC Leaders," he said
V H welcomed the Governor, Tamilisai Soundararajan's reaction for conducting meeting with Transport Department officials and for stepping in and urging the State government and RTC management to take all necessary steps to avoid inconvenience to general public.
He demanded that KCR invite the RTC JAC leaders and hold talks to cut the ice. The Congress leader also called upon the Hyderabad MP to take up the matter with Chief Minister, as the MIM was a partner in the State government. He urged Asaduddin Owaisi, who had earlier influenced the KCR's decision, to speak to him towards resolving the issue.
V H also said till date salaries of RTC employees remained pending and their families were suffering. "They were not able to celebrate Dussehra festival and keeping the current scenario I hope that they would be able to celebrate Diwali at least. Hope the government pays them their salary dues immediately," he added.
State Youth Congress Spokesperson S P Kranthi Kumar, Senior Congress Leader K Venkatesh, P Rajender, RTC JAC Leaders M Shanker, C Kashinath, S Prakash, S H K Reddy, Ravinder, Ashwaq, Siddiqi, A N Reddy, Hemalatha, Rama devi and hundreds of RTC employees participated in the rally demanding for solving their issues and to Save TSRTC.
