Vegetable prices see dip in prices

Rajendranagar: With the monsoon steadily setting up over the State, the vegetable prices are gradually settling down in the markets on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The prices of vegetables, which were soaring till recently, are relenting and witnessing a dip to a stable position, bringing cheer on the faces of consumers entering the market. Unlike the onion prices, that has started soaring up in the city market recently, the vegetables prices at Shamshabad Vegetable Market are showing considerable restrain.

The prices of tomatoes that upset the consumer till recently by quoting Rs 50 to 60 per kilo are now ruling over Rs 10 per kg in the markets. Similarly, other vegetables such as potato, lady's finger, drum sticks, green chilli, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, cauli flower, cucumber and ivy gourd are also up for grabs at affordable rates between Rs 15 to Rs 20 per kg or per item.

Only such veggies as cluster bean, French bean, green beans, capsicum (Shimla mirchi) and carrot are rigid in their prices which are ranging from Rs 40 to 60 per Kg.
