Villagers allege snatching of pattas by Revenue Department

Patancheru: tancheru:Residents of Idulanagulapalli on Friday demonstrated in front of the Ramachandrapuram tahsildar's office protesting against 'snatching' by the administration of 370 house-site pattas distributed in 2009 by Minister J C Diwakar Reddy in the unified Andhra Pradesh.

The protestors cried for justice, in view of the forceful taking back of the pattas by the Revenue Department. They claimed that the same sites were being given to others, while holding copies of the land allotment documents.

Even as the police reached the spot to quell the demonstrators, the tahsildar managed to persuade them to disperse with an assurance that he would take remedial action and inform the higher-ups. Local leaders Mukkera Lingam, Praveen and members of the affected families participated in the protest.
