Villagers urge RDO to reduce pollution

Kohir: A public meeting was organised under the aegis of a multi- disciplinary committee in accordance with the National Green Tribunal at Digwal village on Wednesday.

RDO Abdul Hamid presided over the meeting. Villagers took up the issue of pollution due to emissions from the chemical factory with the officials. They said that they were suffering due to pollution from the factory for the last two decades.

The RDO assured the villagers that he would take steps to provide justice to them by taking up the issue with the officials concerned. The officials of the Pollution Control Board and the Department of Agriculture and others were present on the occasion.
