Vishwa Hindu Parishad seeks stringent cow slaughter laws

Koti: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) national secretary and pramukh of national Goraksha, Khem Chand Sharma demanded more effective implementation of cow slaughter laws in India. He was speaking at a programme organised at VHP office here on Wednesday.

Expressing his anguish at killing of large number of cows in Telugu states, he said that it was unfortunate that cows were being killed despite cow slaughter laws. He expressed his concern over decrease in number of cow varieties from 64 earlier to 32 now. He emphasised the need for protecting local varieties of cows as they were on the verge of extinction.

Khem Chand demanded that both the Telugu State governments implement effective cow slaughter laws. He urged unemployed youth to take up organic farming and focus on manufacture of organic products.

Among those who were present were president of All India Goraksha, Jusraj, Goraksha representatives Yadagiri Rao, Venkanna, Tirupathi and others.
