Voltage fluctuations causing severe hardships

Secunderabad Cantonment: Voltage fluctuations in Tukaramgate, Boyabasti, Gangaputra Sangham areas of Secunderabad Cantonment constituency have been causing severe hardships to people and damaging their utilities and appliances. The problems have been persisting for several months.

Innumerable representations to the officials concerned were made but they remained indifferent. The residents deplore that they are faced with serious damages to TVs, refrigerators, fans, set-of-boxes, telephones, and other valuable and costly utilities. They alleged that the problem was being caused by the supply from the Tarnaka sub-station and because of the negligent attitude of Transco officials.

According to them, the problem persists because of faulty wiring on electric poles. They are unhappy that the Transco officials have stopped receiving complaints over telephones. "None of the officials are responding to calls to the landline or mobile phones,"they rued.

When the complainants visit the office and want to lodge complaints, there is none to respond properly. The staff maintain that the officials concerned are on field visits or are absent. Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, the residents said that they also suffer unannounced power cuts several times from the evening to night.
