Wedding cheques presented at Patancheru

Patancheru: The welfare schemes being implemented by the TRS government have become role models for the entire country, observed local MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy here on Monday.

He was speaking after distributing the 'Kalyana Lakshmi' and 'Shaadi Mubarak' cheques to 225 beneficiaries from various villages for a total of Rs 2,23,26,984 at the mandal parishad office. As many as 41 were given Shaadi Mubarak cheques for Rs 40,54,756, and the 'Kalyana Lakshmi' cheques for a sum of Rs 1,82,72,228 were handed over to 184 beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA stated that the two schemes were proving to be a boon for the poor families. He pointed out that Chief Minister was implementing the schemes so as to ensure that performing marriages of women should not become a burden for their parents.

"Welfare schemes for women were being implemented in Telangana like in no other State across the country," Reddy stated. He listed the other welfare schemes being taken up like enhanced pensions for the physically challenged, and urged women "to bless KCR and the TRS government."
