Where red, green lights act in unison

Secunderabad: The traffic signals, especially in and around Secunderabad area, are acting crazy, said a commuter Arun Ram at the Rasoolpura junction. It is no exaggeration as many signals at different places do not show the correct signal.

Sukumar, a local resident, said, "At the same time, red and green signals flash and it's confusing motorists. At night, Patny Junction traffic lights blink all the time simultaneously, a la a discotheque." Raju, a resident of Begumpet said, "Traffic police are seen relaxing under trees, they are rarely seen on the road controlling traffic.

Venu Gopal, Inspector of Police at Mahankali Traffic Police Station, said, "Due to the recent rains, traffic signals are malfunctioning. There are technical glitches which would be solved soon. To overcome the problem, additional staff is being deployed."
