Banjara Hills: Students from more than 15 schools from Begumpet, Banjara Hills, Kondapur and other areas of the city danced, held placards and chanted slogans calling for action. Students kept chanting the slogan, 'When we do not have a future, school does not matter.' They assembled at the Necklace Road as part of the worldwide 'Fridays for Future' movement.

More than 3,500 strikes have been registered across the world out of which 220 strikes were registered in Telangana itself. Along with the students many NGOs and environmentalists participated in the movement.

Hundreds of school-going children, youths and elderly people stood at the Peoples Plaza in Necklace Road and demanded an immediate action on the climate change front. "In a way the adults are stealing away the future of the upcoming generation," said Ali a volunteer from Green Peace NGO. As per the IPCC report of United Nations, out of 10 most polluted cities in the world seven of them are in India.

Rayyan R, a Class 7 student from Aga Khan Academy, Kurmalguda, said, "There is a lot of pollution leading to health problems. Birds are dying that's why we are protesting. We have to take care of climate; only then can we have a future. We should also stop using plastic. Everyone should take it serious on to themselves as in the end it is going to affect them."

Hari Om, a Class 6 student from Jain Heritage, Kondapur, said "I came here to support this movement. Everyone should take care of their environment so that in future we do not face any problems. With the help of this movement people will get aware about these problems and take care by themselves.

I'm here today because leaders aren't taking the measures they should be taking. We need to be the voice of the animals too. If animals could protest they would all be here! Elephants, ants and giraffes would take to the streets so I'm here representing them too."

Rajeshwari, a vocational training student from St. Francis College for Women, Begumpet, said, "The government should focus on these issues rather than just making money. I myself go by bicycle to my college.

People should use other means of transport like Metro, bicycle's or can just walk. Government should also bring the E-vehicles rather than these RTC buses that bring a lot of pollution."

In Hyderabad, the youths demanded that the government said, 'Ab ki Baar Climate change pe Sarkaar. The youths have also demanded effective public transport and also demanded an entire walkway and 1km as ESZ around KBR National Park. They also questioned the responsibility of the GHMC officials, alleging carelessness towards green cover across the city.
