Workers being stripped of their rights, flays CITU
Patancheru: The CITU State committee on Wednesday accused both the Central and the State governments of depriving workers of their rights while declaring its resolve to take up a fight against the disruptive forces.
State committee member T Panduranga Reddy, while releasing a wall poster on the third State Mahasabha at Shramika Bhavan, called upon the working class to fight against the governments. He demanded payment of Rs 21,000 as the minimum wage.
Reddy alleged that the governments while greasing the palms of the corporate forces were turning workers as bonded labour and rendering labour laws ineffective. He charged the Centre with not revising the minimum wages and ignoring the demand for payment of Rs 21,000.
The CITU leader alleged that the Central government was trying to revise the working hours to nine instead of eight by contemplating changes in the labour laws to please the corporate forces. He called upon workers to make the December 14 demonstrations against rising unemployment, poverty and corruption successful.
The mahasabha would focus on the three aspects among others, besides giving shape to the agitation against the governments for their attacks on the working class. Among the CITU leaders present on the occasion were district vice-president Narsimha reddy, Srinivas Rao, Bangar Raju, Srinivas, Raju.
